There’s already a ton of alternative email hosting solutions, and things like nextcloud can take the place of Office365. It all exists already.
Eh, our company doesn’t use any of those (and not even out of any kind of ideology, it’s just Google/AWS/Apple, which is of course equally bad). If the EU put the right incentives in place, governments and eventually even companies could migrate within a few years.
Still, it’s ridiculous that European institutions use Microsoft/Amazon/Google for anything. It should be homegrown and open source all the way.
That’s exactly what DOGE has done, they’re wrecking entire scientific fields and they changed the percentage of the money that can actually go to those nice labs for the things that didn’t get cut.
Trump will probably perpetually delay the tariffs by 90 days.
You can have a better life with way lower renumeration in Europe, just by virtue of health care expenditure alone.
Yep, the lesser Bush and Trump I shows that Democrats are not interested in punishing crimes committed by Republicans.
I guess they can’t really wear those on their scrubs every day for sanitary reasons. I do love the idea.
Yeah, amazing how that just gets glossed over. It’s a funeral, everyone’s wearing black and he shows up in blue? Goes without saying, but can you imagine Fox News if a Democrat did that?
Honestly, a spreadsheet would be fine for this? I’m not super familiar with what an inventory management system does tho, so maybe it does things beyond what a spreadsheet can do.
If you set up parental controls on your parent’s devices I can guarantee they won’t find a way around it.
Yes, although this is NZ. But yeah, having it get out of control like that does definitely sound like sovereign citizenship shit.
Yeah, it’s a lot easier to just make it a habit and doing it everywhere instead of overthinking the context.
Yeah, you’d have to pay me a lot more to even consider it, $10000 seems laughably low.
I mean, it’s patching a security issue caused by trusting headers it shouldn’t, so I don’t think they should wait for a big number release.
Yeah, the code history is the easiest thing to migrate. The other stuff like issues relies on having a good exporting/importing tool on both sides.
Even then, the creator might decide to shut it off if they don’t use Reddit any more. It’s probably not hugely resource intensive, but you probably wouldn’t want to deal with support requests from a site you don’t care about any more.
I wonder if that bot still works, given they switched to making developers pay for using the API.
I mean, it can be effective. It works for the GOP: you basically can’t get elected as a Republican if you’re not anti-abortion or if you want to raise taxes, and thanks to those purity tests, every time they get in power they take steps towards those goals.
With the ‘big tent’ Democrats all you get is basically a small rollback on the worst excesses of the previous Republican president (to the point where you really can’t call them ‘left’ in any serious way).
