Iirc there are mathematical reason why AI can’t actually become exponentially more intelligent? There are hard limits on how much work (in the sense of information processing) can be done by a given piece of hardware and we’re already pretty close to that theoretical limit. For an AI to go singulaity we would have to build it with enough initial intelligence that it could aquire both the resources and information with which to improve itself and start the exponential cycle.
Weirdly its plugged directly into the GPU in both cases but neither system info, nor blender can actually detect it. (despite the PC clearly posting) and the Terminal detects a power colour GPU but can’t connect to it.

Ok so genuine question (and also my odd moral I guess?) why is eating a plant more moral than eating an animal? They’re both equally alive and subsequently equally dead. Sure plants don’t have a nervous system but they do react to harmful stimuli in a way somewhat analagous to a pain response. The only real difference appears to be that we can relate to animals more.

It could totally have happened already and we just don’t notice, though there’s kind of a critical size where a black hole just gets infinitely big as adsorbing a stray hydrogen atom in the vacuum of space increases its radius enough to encompass multiple new hydrogen atoms and the whole thing just expands to encompass the entire universe. Kind of when everything is a black hole then nothing is a black hole sorta situation.
The black hole idea is actually weirdly solid, its a case of the maths says we definetaly should be but observation and just intuition says its crazy. If you consider the event horizon to be the surface of a volume, black holes get less dense as their radius increases, you can have a black hole with the same density as rock, water, air, even the miniscule density of the gas in a vacuum, so long as teh black hole is large enough. The average density of the observable universe is higher than the density of a black hole the size of the observable universe so technically we should be in one.
Technically this doesn’t have to affect anything, larger black holes can have gentler gravity gradients and nothing in physics actually demands all the mass inside be concentrated at a miniscule central point, it just works out that way for black holes of the size we’ve seen so far. So the entire universe could be a black hole (assuming its finite) with the event horizon just being functionally inacessable and the black hole so large that internal conditions aren’t really influenced in any way.
Who wants to bet they define water as (A liquid mostly comprised of hydrogen and oxygen) and suddenly bleach is legally water.
Crows are really communal though so might be a better bet for human like intelligence in the long run. Magpies too, not because they’d help but because they are both intelligent and total jerks so even the eventual crow people wouldn’t get to be happy thus maximizing the chaos.
I’m probably still gonna try it later, managed to re-format the laptop back to windows and get it working again… still no issues outside linux related things but I’m open to the possibility that it might just be bad luck with hardware.
Mentioned in a different comment but I have installed a custom win10 on this same laptop with this same USB stick before.
Reporting back, rufus fucked it up even more, laptop is now bricked. I know y’all are gonna say it has nothign to do with Linux but it was working perfectly for years right up until today when I tried to install Mint.
(Bricked as in boots up but won’t boot to the Linux preview OR windows, possibly salvagable with a windows boot stick but currently a paperweight)
Also all the CO2, clearly we should be banning these flying machines from spreading mass quantities of weather changing chemicals in our atmosphere.
