Historically the best criteria for selecting people to positions of power is how little they want power, not gender or race.
(Personally I think that’s because people who do not want power see it as a burden, and they do so because for them power is a great responsability towards many others - what sane individuals would ever want to be in a position were they can ruin the lives of countless people by making a mistake - and that’s exactly the kind of people you want to entrust with it, not the ones for whom power is a form of ego-stroking or even a tools for personal upside maximization)
The problem is too many won’t go for it. I recently met a guy who completely voted against his own best interests just because Kamala was born with a vagina instead of a penis. I have both pdf issues in english and spanish and the audiobook that they made for issue 1 and the .apk for the android app (idk how to get ios apps). I don’t know what to do with them yet. My guess and hope is the former. If true, maybe they have to come off as spineless just to keep being funded. I dunno, just speculating.
My guess is a bit of both. As a woman who’s spent some time working in IT, there are still more than enough men who are pissed at having to include women and would jump at the opportunity to get them out of the door or degrade them as soon as possible. Give them an opportunity like “Oh no, now we have to take those women-related things down. Just in case, gotta keep our funding. Too bad, so sad.” and they’ll jump on it.
NASA is always, and in the first place a military organisation in service of the US regime.
Don’t worry, worry-worts. There is an armada of data hoarders who will bring this all back after the purge. Data doesn’t die as long as nerds and geeks like me exist to persist the knowledge we have attained.
