Osmosis Jones.
A half-and-half cartoon and live action film with Chris Rock as the titular character from the late-90s/early-00s. The movie was a flop, but I think it had more to do with lousy marketing. It was actually pretty good and a fun way to look at how things affect the human body.
David Hyde Pierce as the enormous Pill was a great choice, and Bill Murray was hilarious.
It comes down to the variable weather in the US versus the UK.
The UK has maybe handful of weeks of actual hot weather, months and months of rain, and then some weeks of bitter cold. The day is more important than the month who cares if it’s March or September? It’s another day of rain and grey.
The US has extreme weather changes across the year, especially in the northeast where differences in US and UK English first began to diverge, intentionally and unintentionally. In a state like Massachusetts, knowing the month is important for things like setting the scene in letters “home” and so forth. The summer months and grossly hot. The fall/autumn is full of brilliant colors and mild weather followed by months of bitter, unrelenting cold winter. The spring months yield to green and mild weather again. Knowing that the month is April is very important because the 4th of April is going to be incredibly different from the 4th of September.

We’re only nerds if we come out of the Silicon Valley region of California. Otherwise, we are just sparkling geeks.
“It never…happened!”
Ah! The joys of being a lady in the city!
What have we become when a man can’t highly rate the Unabomber’s manifesto??
We used to be a society!
I can’t speak to the ones about holding babies because I try to generally avoid that, but I’m a black woman, and I feel these to the depths of my soul.
I remember some girl in college literally asking me “Oh, are you from a broken home?” It took me a minute to even understand the question.
Is it a bad sign when your hygienist doesn’t even bring it up anymore? 😅
“How’re your teeth?” “Well…I’ve been trying to-“ “Right…have a seat.”
All 3 Mass Effect games!
Run Doom on them?
Kindle.
ADHD usually means that I’ll stop mid-word and want to read something else. If I have all my books in one place, I can still sit in my comfy chair and switch, instead of wasting further hours perusing my library and getting lost in memories of acquiring each book.
Some of them hold up, some of them not so much.
As does any work over time.
There’s, however, a difference in a depiction that was common at the time, versus outright racism. I mean, people still read about and rave over Lovecraft’s work and he was so racist that the other racists of his time used to tell him to chill.
You take the good with the bad in things from another time. Enjoy what you can in the good and learn from the bad.
Right, right. Korkie was Satine’s nephew.
I feel attacked! 😤
Yep. I figured this is what had happened and it definitely worked on me. 🙃
I purchased a new (to me) car the other day. Despite my age, this is the first time I’ve done this all on my own and I’m geeked over my credit score. ☺️
The current order is:
5, 3, R1, 4, 6, Solo, 2, 1, 7, 9, 8
I think a general sense of hatred of the prequels prevents folks from giving Revenge of the Sith its due. Lucas writing and direction improved greatly from Eps 1 and 2, and 3 is really a fantastic movie.
For the sequels, however, 8 and 9 are on equal grounds of suckage. I still say that 8 ruined any hope that the sequels had and 9 was just a dumpster fire of trilogy ending.
Child endangerment is the Jedi way.
That’s why they are given laser swords that can cut through anything at age six!
