  • All of it is laughably wrong.

Other than “lower taxes” and “stop illegal immigration” conservative policies are largely unpopular. I put these in quotes because once you start to apply nuance to those policies they become less popular. Lower taxes for who? Middle America? No, for the 1%! Stop criminals from crossing the border? No, deport the farm workers and asylum seekers that prop up American society!

This is why conservatives resort to wedge issues, propaganda, and fear mongering to stir up their base. Nothing they actually do is popular. They manipulate people into voting against their own interest or just play on their own voter’s racism.

Personally, the fear-mongering about cities is fucking insane. I’ve been to a ton of cities and never not felt safe. Are there areas that you probably shouldn’t go to? Sure, but that’s been the case for all human history. Do you have to like cities? No, but don’t act like they’re a Wild West town where people get shot and robbed at a whim.

  • Yes, the media is suppressing news of protests because most of the media companies are owned by billionaires who’ve kissed the ring.

The protests that are happening are also smaller and somewhat decentralized. The media likes a big show and these protests don’t get clicks or eyeballs on screens.

There are many smaller protests happening such as the ones outside Tesla dealerships literally everywhere. This is having an effect on Teslas stock but TBD if it’ll have a lasting effect.

People are also attending town halls with their congresspeople and getting confrontational. This has led to many representatives cancelling town halls or screening for only Republicans like fucking cowards. Chuck Schumer just canceled his book tour because he knows he’ll get run out of every city he shows up in after his capitulation.

Pro Palestine protests continue on campuses.

There’s a lot to dig into on why there isn’t a large mass protest like 2020 but my simple answer is that things aren’t bad enough yet.

  • Yes, I remember this. People were being snatched up in vans by men in tactical gear.

He also wanted the military to shoot the protestors in DC for his little bible photo op.

This country fucking forgot how terrible 2020 was. He should never have been elected in the first place but 2020 showed that he is a full on fucking sociopath who will kill any American who stands in his way.

  • Everyone in the US who isn’t actively kissing Trump’s ass needs to get really fucking loud and really fucking angry about this.

This man is a legal resident with a green card and ICE blatantly ignored that. They threatened to arrest his 8-month pregnant wife (who is a US citizen) in her home. They moved him across state lines and didn’t tell anyone where he was. They kidnapped him.

This is fucking fascism. America is a fascist nation.

These tactics will continue to be used against any dissidents who stand up to that fat fucking flesh blimp.

At the bare minimum write your representatives and ask why they think this is okay. Start protesting. Do not comply in advance. We can’t stay silent.

  • Depends on the role and company you’re applying for but I’d say if you’re going for something entry level or if you have no experience they help.

I know some helpdesk places near me require A+, NET+, and SEC+ at hire or within the first 6 months. Whereas I’m a small business IT manager and I look at those certs as bonuses for entry or mid level positions. I’m way more interested in your work experience than how many certs you have.
