Ah yes, the famously communist Russian Federation. The RF is nakedly an imperial fascist regime that doesn’t even have communist window dressing, it boggles the mind that self-proclaimed communists and anti-imperialists support them.

  • from my central european perspective, currently there is not much we could do. It is an matter of internal US politics, and on the grand scale, it’s not like your whole country is on fire. Sure, we can send harsh letters or something, but i don’t think our input would even make it on the topics debated in congress. And everything else like military action would just make us the enemy. i don’t think there is anything that would unite the US faster than that - under TACOs banner, so thats the last thing you want (ignoring that we couldn’t even pull something like this off without help from China, noone else comes even close in military strength. don’t forget, you guys have the strongest airforce, and then the second strongest airforce, and i think the 4th strongest airforce is US too)

so, you have my moral support, and i can post in your support, but i think thats about it until you are deep into civil war territory. sorry 😟

  • Sorry to cut in, but I have to hard disagree here.

The post in question has given someone the possibility of creating an image on par quality of any other *ball meme and saved about 20-30 minutes of work. It is an artistic expression, isn’t more or less ugly than other *ball memes of similar type, enhanced the expression of OP (who would had worse results for more work), and no artist can subsist on the creation of memes.

Also, it is very possible to create stuff like this on consumer grade hardware, taking not much more power than running a video game.

I agree that AI CAN be used to create piss-poor excuses for art or to push artists out of their work, but it’s the corpo’s doing that, not the technology. I also groan everytime AI gets shoehorned into another thing where it simply does not offer anything useful, but it surely makes a difference if a corp uses AI as cost-cutting measure, or a private person uses it to enrich their life, which - we shouldn’t forget that - the technology should be there for.

  • hey, that’s me too! the same with losing the entire morning for stuff in the afternoon, being overly on time for first time appointments, but once it becomes routine, i am so late, including the “i post 5 mins before i have to go, and i’m not even dressed or showered yet”.

The comment i made before this one was one of those comments. Glad to be home again.

I really should get diagnosed (in my 40s) and medicated if possible, but i’ve got so much medical stuff going on already, i really don’t want to add to it.

Frauenfeindlichkeit? Schnitzel klopfen? AfD wählen?). Da kann der Papa flehen was er will, das muss der schon an die richtige Person adressieren.

  • as a pedestrian i have to say that i never use my blinker.

joke aside, there’s not much that aggravates me more than drivers not using their signals when they can turn either left or right, but cannot continue forward, like near the street i live in that i frequently have to cross. since they HAVE to turn, i have to wait for them to either remember that they have turn signals, or wait until they have enlightened me about their decision by making them a fact.

don’t be an ass, use your turn signals to make your intentions known for the weaker parties on the road.

  • I don’t have any opinion on them regarding their performance. with proton there exist case files which show that they do not keep logs when not court ordered to do so (in the case i know about, they had to be court ordered to activate logs for login attempts to a specific mailbox). I haven’t heard anything bad about Mullvad either.

Windscribe seems to be fine, but they had at least one big misstep where a private key for OpenVPN was saved locally on a server that then was seized by authorities. PIA, on the other hand, had no issues hiring a criminally convicted CTO and merged with Kape Technologies, which was in the business of creating browser toolbars containing potientially unwanted programs. They have been audited in 2022 tho, so maybe they are alright now…
