Claiming you are smarter because your taste in something is different than others is dumb and ignorant. Making fun of others for their taste is tasteless, childish and sad.

Whether or not you like metal, it can be well structured, musically complex and have highly political statements and well made lyrics. It had been an inspiration for many other musical genres. You can be a pirate with principles. Especially when mega corps and billionaires are forcing society into submission, forcing people to work to just to survive and/or force people to be someone they are not.
