  • Oh I’m not even just talking about TVs. I’m talking about headphones too. I’ve had perfectly good headphones of decent quality that have experienced this issue with movies in particular. Everything else is fine. Games, videos, music all sound great, but some movies are just balanced so poorly. It’s a shared computer space so it’s not really the place for one person to have a whole sound system just to watch poorly balanced movies.

  • It’s not that they never get around to it. It’s that the thought of taking on the responsibility of thralls is so paralyzing that they cannot muster the willpower to get it done.

“Hey boss, you ready to bestow eternal life unto us and forever bind us to servitude?”

“Shit, I forgot dude. I’m sorry. Still have some prep to do but I’ll keep you updated.”

That’s a lie. ADHD folks forget a lot of things, but not the horror that is being locked in your useless body watching the clock tick down while you scream internally to just DO THE THING INSTEAD OF TORMENTING YOURSELF FOR HOURS, DAYS, WEEKS, or god forbid CENTURIES when the fix is a simple bite and being fucking honest with your thralls, hoping they understand.

Another hour passes. Executive dysfunction doesn’t care. Not like you can metabolize your medicine for it anymore.

I think what your missing is that the trolley problem here isn’t an allegory for the US health care system. This trolley problem is entirely unrelated, and the victims are pleading their case for harm mitigation… Until it gets hijacked by a greedy CEO trying to bribe out of it. The self sacrifice the other two on his track is not symbolic of anything other than the generally growing hatred and resentment toward the billionaire class. It could be any CEO there. The health insurance one is just the currently relevant one.

  • I’m curious then, and this is not a value judgment. This is a genuine question to understand the perspective. Is the threat of getting abused in jail the only thing keeping you from breaking the law? If you could guarantee no consequences, would you start murdering? Personally, things wouldn’t change for me. Just like I don’t need god as a moral authority, I don’t need law to want to be beneficial to my community.
