  • No doubt, but imo “natural talent” is way less common than just people who have put in the work, at least for musicians in my experience. For every person i know that just started rippin shit from when they were 3 years old there’s like 20 more folks who have just put in the hours. I also think some people who seem to have that natural talent it’s more like they just were immersed in that environment from birth. Music is a lot like a language; you can always learn a new language as an adult but people that grow up speaking it because of their environment will make it look effortless.

Feels like you’re being intentionally facetious but yeah I pretty much agree with all that. I think the nuance is that most people don’t want to work jobs but would likely occupy themselves with their passions if their basic needs were guaranteed.

There’s also plenty of research that shows that people’s earnings reflect how happy they are, but only up to a certain point. Different studies have different numbers for that point but it’s pretty much always above the actual median income. After that the line flattens and for some even goes down. So yeah, it’s not always a direct money = happiness but you’d have to be an idiot or intentionally obtuse to say that people wouldn’t be happier if they didn’t have to agonize over how they’ll pay their bills/save for their future.

  • Look, I’m not saying any of them come close to the original, but imo it’s the second best of the series (including all the dogshit jurassic worlds) because it sticks to what made the first one great; small amount of people trapped on an island with dinos. The Lost World was like half that but then it turns in to some weird almost king kong-esq thing. Also i love me some Goldblum but he’s better as a foil imo and Chris Pratt has nowhere near the gravitas as Sam Neil. Like really besides the annoying parents what do you not like about the third one?
