As one of them autistic idiots, I really wish people would be straight up, clear as fuck, and brutally honest about everything they are feeling/ thinking. If your bored, just fucking tell me your bored. If you don’t want to be around me, just fucking tell me you don’t want to be around me. I’m not likely to be offended and then I don’t have play the agonizing game of “Guess That Weird Human Emotion I Can’t Comprehend”.

I don’t think your perspective is invalid in the slightest, just offering a different perspective of the same coin. As with every social thing, its all circumstantial. Saying something like this to your boss during a meeting or the VIPs at wedding, is probably not going to so well. But if you know the person and its helpful to them in some way, then I would actually encourage this language.

As someone who is autistic, has an ample dose of ADHD, and the hearing of a brick, talking on the phone is a literal, hellish nightmare. I can barely figure out social interaction when I can see your face, I can’t pay attention to shit unless it’s actively grabbing my focus, and on the best of days the phone is about as intelligible as the adults from Peanuts.

    Fuck. Phone. Calls.

It’s easy to take our experience of the world or how we feel about something and try to forcefully apply it to everyone else. This almost never works, and we just end up looking like a dumbass because people are messy and rarely fit in the same mold as us. Perhaps you feel that avoiding talking on the phone is ridiculous, but that is decidedly not universally true. Next time, maybe try and think through how other people might have a different experience and reason than you before passing such judgments.

  • Imagine someone keeps breaking into your house and shitting on your pillow. Do you move out and find a new house, or do you grab a baseball bat and beat the shit bandits ass?

Both are valid options with positive and negative consequences. Which path we choose is largely determined by the value we personally place on our things and spaces. We tend to value our homes and families more, so it’s easier to choose the bat. But, it’s the exact same choice when your country goes sideways (or any difficult decision, really).

Ask yourself; How valuable is the country, to you? How valuable is your role in its society, to you? How valuable is it that you stand up for your beliefs, to you? If you place no value on your country, then move on and feel good about taking care of yourself. If you value your country a lot, then stand and fight to the end. No one on the internet can answer these questions for you, and there is no right or wrong choice unless you decide there is.

  • Right now I think its basically zero chance, BUT we are absolutely hurtling face-first into that exact reality.

It’s our extremely unfortunate job right now to fight these fascist Cunts and do our best to prevent this reality from coming to be. I get that that is downright terrifying, but if we give in to that fear and bury our heads in the sand, doesn’t kinda mean they win?
