The problem is for organizations it’s harder to leave because that is where the people you want to reach are. That’s the only reason any org or company is on social media in the first place. If they leave too soon they risk too many people not seeing the things they send out to the community.

It’s more an individual thing because so many people just have social inertia and haven’t left since everyone they know is already there. The first to leave have to decide if they want to juggle using another platform to keep connections or cut off connections by abandoning the established platform.

I’m white, but also trans. Currently preparing to move across country to a state where I hope to maintain some rights.

I’m privileged enough to be able to do that, but I also am aware that my job may be at risk with everything going on. This last week has me anxious enough that my ADHD medication is barely doing anything to help me focus on most tasks.

It’s the same shit MLK said about the white moderate. Anyone fine and comfy is perfectly OK with other people being denied rights because doing something to fix it means upsetting the status quo and stuff might end up a bit harder for them.

Meanwhile, so many people getting deported means we are about to enter in a massive food shortage and price hike that will effect them. But they will rationalize like they always do that this wasn’t something they could have forseen desire the rest of us telling them exactly what was going to happen.

For fuck sake, there were people like that who basically claimed we were crazy for quoting the shit trump said he was going to do. Saying it was hyperbole. Like Trump even knows what that is.

I’ve literally seeing the rights of myself and other get taken away in the last week. I’m moving cross country to get out of the state I’m currently in because it does not recognize who I am.

They want to open up people like me to descrimination and hate crimes. I’m wondering what will happen with my job if this stuff keeps happening.

There are real world consequences to politics and people sticking their heads in the sand is the reason literal fascism is on the rise.

If you are privileged enough to feel you don’t have to worry about politics that generally means you aren’t the current target.

I haven’t done much with UI in general, but the one time I thought of making some UI stuff in windows I gave up.

Even modifying an existing .net program someone else made for a feature I wanted was a nightmare.

See, for me hunger is an all consuming distraction. There have been very few times I get so hyper focused I forget to eat.

Medication helps, but I still get hungry and crave chocolate.
