The one that comes with your DE is generally just fine, unless you’re a serious terminal user.
One feature that might be nice is some kind of local LLM integration so I can get help on how to tinker with settings and such
I think that’s a quick way to nuke your install, LLMs are generally wrong about what commands to run and don’t understand enough to know when something is dangerous. All it takes is changing one wrong file and everything breaks.
You can use a VPN client that supports split tunneling.

At least for windows the hibernation file is stored as a file on the C: drive, so will be encrypted by bitlocker along with your other data.
The ultra-dark dark modes really bug me, black with various shades of black or dark colors is almost impossible to see UI elements on easily.
Dark modes should be like in the 50% gray area, where it’s dim but things can still have good contrast.
Modern sleep keeps a network connection active so it can still check your email or whatever stupid reason they came up with.

Definitely run everything on the M.2 since you have it. MicroSD is so slow and wears out super quickly.

Anything you change on a browser like installing extensions makes your fingerprint change and be more unique. Especially on a browser like Vivaldi that is not doing much anti-fingerprinting as far as I know.
Librewolf is a good option if you want more privacy and don’t want to use brave.

Yeah WebDAV is significantly better for our use cases, S3 has so many weird limitations and it’s hard to find clients for it.
Check what the last wake source was and see of that helps.
My HP laptop did that until I disabled “Deep Sleep” in the BIOS settings, now it sleeps properly and only loses a couple percent per day.
Mostly because it’s such a pain in the ass to get in to and be on private trackers if you’re not a serious user.
