Are we seriously valuing this comic based on the quality of the drawings rather than the idea they convey?
IMHO this is all about the idea/text, which doesn’t look like AI slop to me.

I’d agree, I live in the typical ADHD chaos but this meme doesn’t feel relatable to me. I guess I’m lucky? Anyway, I’d totally say this is about anxiety, not ADHD.
Most people tend to develop coping mechanisms that help them pass as non-ADHD individuals, by lowering their standards for what they can achieve in life and by accepting the abnormally high amounts of stress that hiding their ADHD causes them.
Psychologists call this “growing out of ADHD”.
A non-conventional choice would be a pair of Beoplay (Bang&Olufsen) Portal, IF you can get a good deal. My partner has them and they’re awesome. I think they’re recently discontinued (nothing wrong with them really) which means that even though their retail price is much higher, they can often be found refurbished / for sale within that bracket. The only word of advice is that there is a separate PlayStation and an Xbox+PC version, so you’d need to make sure to get the right one. No idea what the difference is but internet comments made it sound like they wouldn’t be properly compatible across systems.
You say “as expected” but on the opposite end of the spectrum there’s primark’s clothing which is largely made in Ireland. From my understanding the reason they are dirt cheap is because they lean on automation, not because of sweatshops.
Not comparing the two brands - just showing the opposite example to say it’s possible to have brands that are both European AND cheap. European doesn’t necessarily mean crazy expensive.
The Aarke one looks incredible, although it isn’t cheap.
It’s strictly for water though (no sweet stuff like cocktails or juice). I think Breville (called Sage in the UK because there’s another brand also called Breville) sells another fancy one that does sweet stuff too.
Scaling factors for resolution are over the number of pixels, 4k isn’t called that because it has 16 times more pixels.
Anyway, semantics. This comment discredits the reviewer in this sense.
As far as the display, it’s beautiful.
Coming from someone who sees no problem in downscaling by 2.5 the resolution instead of changing dpi, this means absolutely nothing.
Even though there is a LOT more to a person than productivity and that can never be the thing that defines us, I’m going to focus exclusively on that because that’s what this post is about.
I had one of those days today. Absolutely awesome. I almost had no meetings and the software changes kept coming in. I nailed it. I’m still on a rush, I feel unstoppable!
However yesterday, I came home and I was almost crying to my partner because I couldn’t take the laundry off the rack and I felt useless.
But hey, so is the life of ADHDers. I accept it. Yesterday it took me a while to get out of that emotional state. I knew that rationally I’m not a useless person and I have a good handle on my life. However emotionally it was way harder. It took me a lot of processing to synthesise that knowledge into feelings.
So I know the rational part, and I lean on that and on a very understanding, loving partner (who is also neurodivergent) who helps me stay grounded when I panic. Our productivity is not constant. That is fine - on average, there’s nothing wrong with our output!
Over the past 5 years, I’ve installed ubuntu about 30 times on different computers. Not once has an install on an SSD taken me more than an hour, with it typically taking me 30 minutes or less except for rare occasions where I’ve messed something up.
Mine is Clippy, but it’s constantly retrieving information from the wrong word document.
“Hey, it looks like you’re on holiday abroad. Would you like to take your car to the garage? The MOT expires tomorrow.”
“Hey, would you like some help researching this really interesting camera equipment during working hours?”
“Hey, I see you’re going to the gym. Let me remind you of all the tasks you need to do at home and now you won’t have time to do: (…)”
Also because, as a person who has studied multiple languages, German is hard and English is Easy with capital E.
No genders for nouns (German has three), no declinations, no conjugations other than “add an s for third person singular”, somewhat permissive grammar…
It has its quirks, and pronunciation is the biggest one, but nowhere near German (or Russian!) declinations, Japanese kanjis, etc.
Out of the wannabe-esperanto languages, English is in my opinion the easiest one, so I’m thankful it’s become the technical Lingua Franca.
I don’t care if it’s single ply. I just fold tp until it has the appropriate thickness anyway.
If it’s single ply, I just use a lot of TP and make it many-ply.
That’s true, but the person perceived to be “in power” in the relationship (what was called traditionally the breadwinner) is less likely to complain about the situation. I don’t think many working people, women or otherwise, think “I wish I could work at home tidying up the house for no salary and have no income of my own!”
I agree with your point still - once children are in the equation some women might shift towards the traditional view if that means they’d get to stay at home spending time with them.
Yeah make it more engaging! And with flashing lights please
Yeah it does. I mark notes with #review (again, this is an obsidian-specific workflow purely because it’s the app I use), and then go through the notes with that tag, tidying them up and also looking for interesting things. Obsidian has a graph view which shows your notes as interconnected notes, which I look into and try to find disconnected notes to link them to something else. I find it quite rewarding and relaxing.
If you end up having to go through the route of electric trash, I’d recommend buying a phone that is
So that you’re not buying something new, and so that you can use it as a “key fob”.
For example, there was the palm phone in 2018 or so which was a massive flop because it was small and underpowered. Unihertz devices could be another good alternative. Also older, smaller Xperia phones - a 2018 flagship would cost peanuts and be way more powerful than you actually need to run a key fob app.
What has helped me is taking notes. I use Obsidian for note taking (I don’t mean the app itself is the solution, just the one that works for me).
When I’m out and about I take notes whenever I think of something “oh, I should probably look into this book!” Or “make an app to do X and Y”.
When I’m at home and I have nothing better to do I tidy up my notes. Sometimes doing this is an entertainment in itself, and sometimes this reminds me that I wanted to watch a certain movie and it’s a great day for that.
I rarely get bored anymore because I capture the fleeting ideas I get through the day, and I’d need years to carry them all to fruition. On a given day reviewing my notes I might be interested only in 1 out of 10… But that’s still one idea that keeps me busy and entertained, and then it’s also something fulfilling because I’ve chosen it mindfully, unlike scrolling tiktok endlessly or watching whatever slop Netflix’s algorithm force feeds me that day.
I know this is only a comic… but he’s answering questions, just not the ones in the post!!
Isn’t this satire?
