Likely bad coding or bad database design.
Best practice is to avoid using email as primary key in the user database, instead use an internal ID, so that an email change can happen without touching the primary key.
Your reply made me think of an alternative to deleting accounts : replace personal information to use a pseudonym and a throwaway email, remove everything that can be removed.
That would help once the badly coded website get hacked or its database get leaked.
Yes, assuming the site allows deleting accounts.
Many don’t have an easy way of deleting accounts. Some won’t delete an account even when making a formal request.
Not necessarily. Conversations have reasonable battery usage without using Google’s push messaging system (GCM). They rely instead on XMPP protocol features and client optimisations to limit battery usage.
A group of mine is currently discussing migrating to Matrix. Among the arguments, it’s said to be more popular than our current messenging protocol, but it’s also said to be a drain on battery.
I saw one comparison saying the official Matrix client on Android drain battery 10x faster than some well written XMPP clients. So I’m not going to migrate for now. May reconsider once Matrix clients reduce battery usage significantly.
Atomic distro sounds like an interesting way to avoid breakage due to admin/user mistakes, so it’s a good suggestion. But it doesn’t help much with bugs in new software releases.
So the best choice depends on what exactly caused instability in OP’s case.
Somewhat obvious tips to get a more stable experience:
Trade negociation is one of those situations where EU countries need to band together, and should avoid seeking arbitrary carveouts that weaken the overall EU negociating position.
This just shows the EU is more sensitive to tariff on alcool, and has a weak point in that area that others can exploit during negotiations.
Flip a coin. Seeing duplicate posts on the home page is annoying.
That’s the whole point.
Like how Stephen Colbert setup his own SuperPac on air, showing how many ridiculous and unethical things are legal with US’ current campaign finance laws.
This alone doen’t make you a Nazi, but that’s still a terrible course of action.
A wise man once said…
Calling out Musk and his actions, and avoiding the company that he owns and control, are the least one can do given all the trouble he’s causing, or trying to cause.
Several companies sell electric vehicles, and unlike Tesla, most aren’t owned by a Nazi (sympathiser).
Have you heard of grocery caddy? It has wheels and can carry more groceries than one person can lift with their own hands.
The heaviest thing I often see people load in their car is a 6-pack of water or soda bottles. It’s better for health and just simpler to drink tap water. Drinking from a plastic bottle means drinking microplastics. And I don’t need to explain why water is better than sodas.
I’m starting to think using fossil fuel, and having a strong dependency on other countries for energy supply, may not be a good idea after all.
Rest of the world: We’re deprecating C++ due to lack of memory safety. Please consider doing something for safety.
C++ commite: Here’s a new convenient operator to make it easier to do a potentially unsafe, multi-level pointer dereference.
Medias and part of the public pay more attention to CEO’s welfare and wellbeing than random people’s wellbeing, making some crime even more high-profile.
This put extra pressure on law enforcement to focus on some crimes at the expense of others. Police doesn’t exist in a vacuum.
Police need to better protect average people, but this probably require both changes in police and in culture more broadly.
As an alternative to newspaper and magazine subscriptions, go to your local library’s (website).
My library card allows me to access a bunch of newspaper and magazines online, and cost me just a very low yearly fee.
He’s also giving more material to the CoC board by posting this. He’s free to do it but it’s not helping.
I wish he would avoid commenting and stay away from the drama, until he hears from the board if there’s any complaint and what it is.
It sounds surprising given the headline, but looks quite reasonable when looking at the details in the article:
What makes you think this would only affect YouTube?
