That’s actually a huge problem and I don’t get why it is not talked about more. We all learn about validating links in emails and are very careful about clicking anything there. But QR codes we just scan and open without thinking.

Technology has continued to progress but I think many cable providers are capping at around 100 mbps. I could be wrong.

My cable internet provider offers up to 1000. I currently have 250. It is pretty unstable though that could just be the provider being shitty.

Sag ich immer wieder. Ich bin irgendwann auf Filter und French Press umgestiegen und dadurch hat sich automatisch mein Konsum aufs Frühstück am Wochenende fokussiert. Das manuelle brühen dauert einfach zu lange für den schnellen „Kick“ vor der Arbeit, ich trinke jetzt nur noch für den Genuss. Interessanterweise bin ich seitdem sogar morgens wacher als sonst!

Wenn ich mal zur Arbeit fahre steht dann da natürlich der blöde Vollautomat der wieder verführerisch ist, obwohl der Kaffee eher mittel schmeckt…

Da müsste ich zumindest kurz nachdenken. Wieviele Hunde hierfür unnötig gezüchtet werden nur um dann massenhaft die Tierheime zu überfüllen, ausgesetzt zu werden oder schlimmer, in irgendwelchen dunklen, kalten Kellern ihr vernachlässigtes Dasein zu fristen.

Ich weiß es ist nicht ernst gemeint, aber das ist mir direkt eingefallen. Am Ende würde ich natürlich die Welpen wählen, weil man da zumindest gegen die Nebenwirkungen noch Maßnahmen ergreifen kann. Ewiger Durchfall ist ewiger Durchfall.

Ich habe alle Optionen jahrelang durchgemacht und immer gewinnt das Auto.

Zur Arbeit brauche ich mit den Öffis mindestens doppelt so lang, muss dann obendrauf noch täglich mit Verspätungen rechnen (die teilweise nicht mal kommuniziert werden) und mich in enge Busse quetschen mit Menschen die eine Woche nicht geduscht haben. Da sitze ich lieber gelegentlich mal mit dem Auto im Stau, aber dafür kann ich atmen.

Fahrrad kann ähnlich schnell sein, muss aber nicht. Das hängt vom Weg ab. Oft kann man gut abkürzen, dann geht es tatsächlich flott. Aktuell wohne ich eh zu weit weg, da ist das gar keine Option. Das wird sich demnächst ändern, dann werde ich bei gutem Wetter vielleicht auch mal das Rad nehmen. Aber auch dann brauche ich ca 15 min länger als mit dem Auto.

Interesting, I’ve never seen a tape measure like this. In the end it’s the same thing, just remove a zero and you have cm. That’s the magic of it.

But i understand now how you came to the conclusion that centi is not used that much.

I’m from Germany and we use cm a lot. I can’t imagine not having anything between mm and m, the gap is huge. Those are probably the most used ones in daily life and km for distances farther than 999 m.

I guess driving at the speed limit annoys some people (especially Audi and BMW drivers). They think they are very important and always need to drive faster than is allowed, tailgating others if they can’t overtake.

I’m not specifically doing it to annoy them but I take pleasure knowing they are annoyed.

I mean centimeters is probably the most common in households and centiliters at least in cocktail recipes. But yes, you don’t really need deka, hecto or deci in your daily life and you can grow up not knowing they exist at all. It would also make things like tape measures too complicated to look at.
