        I think that’s a European/Australian consumer protection thing, I can’t think of a manufacturer that allows it in the US.

        I’d be so cool if the movement pushing people to switch their win10 to Linux would be like ‘btw, if you’re looking for a win11 machine this is how you can get it with a discount’

      Microshit still got a payment… Stop feedingg the parasite.

      Microsoft cut a deal with the manufacturer of my laptop, to have Windows pre-installed. They did so as a loss leader, with the expectation of future earnings based on my usage of Windows 11.

          They do, but the OEM rates are significantly lower than what you or I would pay, and they get cheaper by volume so the big OEMs are paying very, very little per unit.
