    I can tell you why.

Even before the owner of their company overtly showed he was a Nazi piece of shit, the Cybertruck was an overpriced and ugly piece of shit.

I will say that it’s styling is unique and distinctive, and looks like it belongs in a videogame, making it a polarizing “love it or hate it” aesthetic. While such a risky choice could potentially succeed, Musk going full MAGA and throwing Nazi salutes really turned a lot of people off of Tesla, and it’s distinctive flagship videogame “truck” became the instant icon of douchbaggery. Add in that Musk chronically over promises and under delivers (i.e., he lies about prospective features and benefits of his products), and every single problem with the vehicle is put under the microscope and (rightfully) held up as an example of why the truck is shit. Also note that, on brand for Musk, the relatively low price that it was promised at ($39,999) never materialized, and the actual price for the base vehicle was over $100K. So yeah, overpriced and shit compared to what was promised. The styling might have been able to find a fanbase, but not now, because it flags you as a Nazi supporter.

If it were an actually good vehicle the styling would have been ugly-cute. Jeeps aren’t particularly good looking but (until recently) their off-road skills made up for it.

But it’s bad at just about everything, made poorly, and looks like a dumpster.

I have a unique and distinctive ass but let’s not pretend anyone but the government was ever lining up to fuck it.

i want a car with good panels that don’t fly off while you’re driving. That’s a good idea.

I was just going to say that it looks like something from a subpar N64 title that hasn’t been played by more than three dozen people since 2004.

The Cybertruck is the first Tesla vehicle that was designed completely under the direction of Musk. The other models had all been part of the original Tesla founders’ long term plans. They had a series of vehicles they wanted to produce, and they laid the groundwork for them years in advance. The Cybertruck was the first after Musk had gained complete control. It represents what is truly in his heart. He is a machine man. An unnatural man. With a machine mind and a machine heart.

I was surprised to find one in my city. And honestly, it felt like being in the presence of an oversized Fisher Price toy car because of the tire fenders. It does not look fancy. You can tell the engineers tried very hard to make it look its best.

AFAIK there’s like one Cybertruck in all of Norway, and it got snuck in through some loophole because it doesn’t meet vehicle standards.

Model Y is selling like hot cakes, though. Most likely because they’re getting cheaper due to nobody else wanting to buy them.

What’s enshittified about them? I tried an ID.4 for a few days recently and it was quite nice. I also had a ride in a Model 3 and the oversized screen hit me in the knee. Also I don’t think the VW has overhyped self driving which tries to kill you, like Tesla does. So at first glance I’m leaning towards the VW if I was to buy a car right now. What did I miss?

Tesla took taxpayer money that existed to create economy EVs, and was allowed to build “luxury” cars that they knew would never be competitive with other economy cars in terms of price, then they gave the money they took to Elon in a pay package.

Not only was this company used to siphon hundreds of billions from the American taxpayer, it stifiled the US’s transition to green energy which is required to stop the extinction of all macroscopic life.

    This world is broken
