Yep, I’m also fairly unobservant, and I think this comic is just accurately portraying people like me in a humorous way. There’s nothing wrong with making fun of people’s weaknesses as long as you’re not being mean about it.

Why is it no longer accurate? Maybe you meant to way it is not generally true, but it is certainly accurate as a description for my own family.
Can I say nothing is more American than immediately assuming people on the internet are Americans by default?
Who’s they? The innocent civilians are shooting at ships? Is this shopkeeper shooting at ships and deserves to feel their life endangered by US bombs?
I agree with it being a symptom rather than the cause. Which is why, just like the case with Luigi, I don’t condone it but I don’t condemn it, either. He’s just a symptom to the actual problem going near critical status.
On the other hand, it is also a symptom of the system trying to correct itself, albeit forcefully. But that means I’m also worried when the symptom doesn’t manifest itself when I expect it to because it could be a sign of a lack of corrective feedback.
Isn’t that still better than legislators bowing to fascist pressure and letting them slowly gain more and more power until no one can stop them without a bloody civil war or a potential world war?
So you don’t get confused which outlet the switch turns off.
In the same paper abstracts, they also mention how bitterness itself suppresses sweetness, so by suppressing bitterness with salt, you also make any sweet notes in the coffee stand out better. This might be another reason why salt makes it more palatable.
I don’t think salt modified the acidity, though. What they do is activate the salty receptors which share nerve pathways with bitter receptors, so you detect less of the bitterness in the coffee.
Edit: I can’t find any reputable sources for the sharing nerve pathways part, but a couple of paper abstracts I found do show that saltiness suppresses our ability to detect bitterness.
Well, except for a few species where their venom is what’s more terrifying, that’s generally true. This also hopefully makes them more effective at capturing insects, which is the main reason we want them near us.
I think I prefer looking at the Aztek than this boring design.
How much global temperature increase would we need for that route to be viable? Have there been any research on this?
As long as the fees as still lower than the cost to go around South America, I’m sure they’ll still have business.
They did know about the time dilation, though? They weren’t surprised by the fact that there was time dilation, they just didn’t fully grasp what the results would be.
It’s actually the 3rd panel that is the odd one out, since the 4th panel kept the orientation of both characters from the 1st and 2nd panels.
You have to replace the last parentheses with %29 to fix the link. Like so: The Fly
Yeah, but that doesn’t mean we have the same problems as you.
People letting him do it is what’s gonna make it come true.
Its funny that we’re not allowed to call out Biden for his bullshit before the election, and now we still can’t call out Biden for his bullshit after the election even after their bullshit contributed to the Democrat’s loss. When are you guys ever gonna learn if any criticism is hand waved away as being a Republican misinformation effort. Do you want to continue losing the election?
