i still prefer the feel of a book, but the ability to have thousands of books on one device, being able to tap a word and get a definition without having to open another “book,” negation of lighting requirements, highlighting, multiple bookmarks, customizable font/size-- if it’s not an art book or graphic novel, i’ll deal with reading the e-ink screen
funny how so many brands have tried to break into the denim market with $150+ jeans, yet levi’s is still the go-to after 100 years. even more so now that they make the $20 levi’s signature brand at walmart-- just as good as the “real” ones and even more comfortable
the ereader i have doesn’t handle images well at all. if you’re reading a book with a photo or map or anything that isn’t coded text, then it sucks. my current book has some text that was scanned as images-- i have to zoom in and drag the screen to read it, and the refresh/“frame rate” for e-ink is inherently terrible. a tablet would solve this, if i didn’t care about privacy

edit: on the ebooks topic, i’ve had a pretty good experience with the kobo libra color ereader along with calibre, but it’s a miserable experience trying to read graphic novels on it-- any recommendations (that are not amazon/apple/android/google) for an ereader that can do graphics well?
yea, he needed the latino vote, so he told them what they wanted to hear, just like he did with the other groups who could possibly be suckered
and suckered they fucking were
you never old enough to give, a fuck about comma placement though,
that’s why i burned all my teen diaries–every day is a new me!
OOGA-CHAGA
after ~20 years of being tangled up in google and even longer with microsoft, i’m in the process of doing the same. sooo many accounts, it’s hard to realize how embedded you are until you start removing all those tendrils
it’s like that south park episode where prof chaos is trying to come up with an evil plan for world domination, but can’t because the simpsons already did it
except instead of south park it’s real life
didn’t amazon already backpedal on this? or did they flip flop again?
believe it or not, there is such a thing as looking “good enough” in any situation. spending this much time comparing yourself to everyone else-- you’re in for an exhausting life
i’ll never not think “hey, fallout!” when i see that flag

hey, the same shit happens to me! i thought i was the only one…
its like getting text messages from that friend you don’t remember making when you were blackout drunk last night
do yourself a favor, take a week off (at least) from the news. you can safely assume it’s going to be bad and there’s nothing being done about it, but you’ll notice an improvement in your mental health. nothing in the world changes when you stop doomscrolling, only changes in yourself
real nObOdY wAnTs To WoRk vibes…
also, if a candidate is having to ask what you’re bringing to the table as an employer at their own job interview because you couldn’t be up-front enough about it to post it on the hiring page, then that’s already enough of a red flag that i already closed the tab
